We were recently asked to help a Bay Area biotech firm to work with senior managers using the Leadership Challenge—a wonderful approach to leadership development developed by Barry Posner and James Kouzes.
The engagement includes live sessions (now delivered via videoconference of course) backed up by short video clips to consolidate and re-cap the learning. This has proved very effective in terms of embedding critical leadership behaviors in the management group.
A nice example is below, based on the key leadership behavior (one of five in Posner and Kouzes' framework) that they call "Enable Others to Act." An important aspect of this is "flow": how, as a leader, can you help people get into a state of flow?
